On February 19th, I went to go see Safe Haven with my friends. Personally, I not really one for romance movies. For goodness sake, I had my friends on each shoulder crying their eyes out. Even if you're not one for sappy love stories { like me... }, you would find the suspense portion very intriguing. In the words of tribute dot com: When a mysterious young woman named Katie (Julianne Hough) washes up in the small North Carolina town of Southport, she is determined not to make personal relationships. That is, until she meets Alex (Josh Duhamel), a kind-hearted widowed store owner, struggling to raise his two children. When Katie feels herself falling for him, she must choose between familiar safety and the perils that come with love. Well based on that synopsis, they left out how she was running away from her abusive, alcoholic husband and that's why she has to choose between familiar safety etc.. Other than that, they pretty much covered everything. I think that overall it was a really good movie. It had some action, suspense, thrill and romance of course. Also, if you haven't guessed yet, it's based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. I find them very predictable, his books. I don't really read his books. I watch the movies because me and my friend go see Nicholas Sparks movies together kinda like a tradition with us. I mainly go see it for Josh Duhamel and Zac Efron (The Lucky One). I regret nothing.... :) I would highly recommend this movie to anyone truly. Not matter how sappy it was, it was a really good message put out and good acting. That would ruin a movie if there was no good actors, but it was good. :) I don't think I spoiled the movie for anyone.. if I did... sorry.. :p
